A WRC complaint by staff nurse Cornelius O'Sullivan, who said he was passed over for promotion because of his union activity, was found not well founded. The decision, dated 23 November 2022, concerned the National Forensic Mental Health Service. The WRC said there was no clear evidence linking O'Sullivan’s treatment in promotion competitions to his role as a union representative. It found that he was not penalised under the Employees (Provision of Information & Consultation) Act 2006.
