WRC rejects Laundry Operative’s redundancy payment complaint

The WRC found a Laundry Operative’s redundancy payment complaint not well founded in a decision dated 5 September 2019. The complaint followed the closure of the Nursing Home Operator’s laundry and the worker’s transfer to day care. The worker said later roles were unsuitable and that the employer refused redundancy. The adjudicator found her employment had not ended and she had not been laid off or put on short-time working, so the complaint failed.
