The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Roberto Alamazani’s Equal Status complaint against adjudication officer Roger McGrath, finding it misconceived. The decision was dated 26 August 2021.
Alamazani alleged race discrimination in the hearing and decision in an earlier case. The WRC found that adjudication was a statutory, quasi-judicial function, not a service available to the public under the Equal Status Act, and said the adjudicator was covered by judicial immunity. The merits were not decided.
