The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction over a complaint that a bus driver denied a teenager and his father free travel, because it was filed five days beyond the time limit. The decision, dated 5 June 2018, said the complainant had not shown reasonable cause for the delay; the merits were not decided.
The complainant alleged discrimination by association with his father, who was entitled to free travel on disability grounds, after they were required to leave a bus at Naas. The bus company denied discrimination and said the pair were asked to leave because of the father’s alleged intimidating behaviour.
