The Workplace Relations Commission found an office assistant entitled to statutory redundancy pay and ordered the restaurant to pay her entitlement within six weeks. Adjudication Officer Eugene Hanly dated the decision 2 February 2018. The worker said she received outstanding wages after the business went into liquidation but no redundancy payment. The WRC extended the time limit after finding she had made sustained efforts to obtain payment, and found that a genuine redundancy had occurred. Payment was subject to the statutory condition that she was in insurable employment for the relevant period.
