The WRC upheld a worker’s statutory redundancy complaint after a meat-processing plant closed without notice. It required the plant to pay the worker’s statutory redundancy entitlement within 42 days of the decision, dated 22 May 2018. The worker had been employed as a general operative from December 2013 until the factory closed in October 2016. He said the plant did not pay his statutory redundancy entitlement, and the WRC found the complaint well founded on his uncontested evidence.
