WRC complaints fail after employee misses hearing

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found that an employee’s Payment of Wages Act complaint and two working time complaints failed after he did not attend the hearing. The decision, dated 29 March 2018, said the complaints failed for lack of prosecution; the merits were not decided. Neither the employee nor the employer attended the hearing. The WRC said correspondence from the employer suggested that outstanding monies due to the employee had been paid, but the complaints had not been withdrawn.
