The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Olumide Smith’s Equal Status complaint against APCOA Parking (Ireland) Limited as frivolous or vexatious. The decision was dated 8 October 2021. Smith alleged that APCOA’s solicitor harassed him on racial grounds during an earlier WRC hearing, where the solicitor called one of his statements “nonsense”. He also alleged that APCOA supplied false information about its registered name. APCOA said its solicitor used the word while responding to Smith’s statement about vehicle clamping. The adjudication officer found that APCOA was not providing Smith with a service under the Equal Status Act at the hearing. The complaint was dismissed under section 22.
