WRC finds cleaner was not unfairly dismissed after resignation

By Saoirse Doyle

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found that a cleaner was not unfairly dismissed after she resigned over changes to her work arrangements. The decision was dated 11 May 2018. She had worked for a hygiene service provider for more than ten years and said being required to collect and return her work van at a depot made her resignation a constructive dismissal. The employer said her move to Wexford created working-time and safety concerns. The adjudication officer found the employer had not acted so unreasonably that she was forced to resign.
