The WRC found a fast-food worker’s rest-break complaint not well founded and recommended that her employer pay €250 as a goodwill gesture and full and final settlement of a separate workplace dispute. The decision was dated 9 February 2018. The worker said she often worked alone, missed breaks and sometimes covered long shifts. The employer said she worked four hours a day and relied on signed time sheets. The WRC said the records and evidence weighed heavily against her rest-break complaint. It made no finding in her favour on bullying or harassment, noting that she had not raised a formal grievance.
