The Workplace Relations Commission recommended a review of a manager’s role and a change to how she claims travel and subsistence expenses. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne dated the recommendation 20 November 2017. The manager wanted an independent evaluation of her grade and to keep her previous expenses arrangement. The agency said its common expenses policy should apply and acknowledged that her role sat outside its job-family structure. The adjudicator said the special expenses arrangement should not continue indefinitely and recommended that the director general evaluate how the role could be expanded to include some Commercial Department responsibilities. She also recommended that the manager claim expenses under the policy applying to staff and volunteers.
