The Workplace Relations Commission ordered an auto service provider to pay a production operative €300 after upholding his complaint about written terms of employment. The decision was dated 13 March 2018. The worker said he was given an English-language contract he could not understand because of his limited English. The employer said it provided a signed contract and that its Lithuanian-speaking production manager could help with translation. The WRC found the worker’s account persuasive and ordered the compensation.
