Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered a fast food outlet to pay a customer service assistant €2,919.54 in lieu of six weeks’ notice. It also awarded €1,946.36 for failing to provide written employment terms, €555.98 for outstanding annual leave and €2,377 for Sunday work. The complainant was entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum, subject to insurable employment. The decision was dated 20 November 2017. The complainant said the business had closed while she was away from work and that she was made redundant. The adjudication officer found that the business closure caused the redundancy and that the other complaints were well founded. The respondent did not attend the hearing or file a response.
