The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed a shop assistant’s claim for Sunday pay arrears, finding it not well founded. Adjudication Officer Michael McEntee dated the decision 20 March 2018. The assistant said she had agreed a Sunday premium of time plus one-third, leaving a shortfall of about €2.08 per shift. The retail and service store said the rate was time plus 30% and had been clarified repeatedly. The WRC accepted that payslip wording could be read in two ways but found the rate had been clarified and paid in good faith.
