A housekeeper is entitled to a redundancy lump sum based on 25 years’ service, the Workplace Relations Commission found. The decision, dated 4 April 2018, says the €300 already paid must be deducted from the calculation. The adjudicator found that the €1,000 paid by a former priest was a personal gift in appreciation of her work, not a redundancy payment, so it should not be deducted. The ruling gives the calculation criteria, including gross weekly pay of €65, but no final lump sum figure.
