The Workplace Relations Commission ordered an employer to pay a former jewellery-shop sales assistant €406.08 in unpaid minimum notice. The decision was dated 16 November 2017. The assistant worked 28 hours a week before the shop closed. The original notice payment was calculated using a 24-hour week. The WRC found she was entitled to eight weeks’ pay in lieu of notice calculated on 28 hours, leaving the €406.08 shortfall. The employer did not attend the hearing. The WRC also ordered it to issue an amended payslip without deductions and refund PAYE and USC that had been deducted in error.
