The WRC found a Chief Executive Officer’s protected-disclosure penalisation complaint was not well founded. The decision was dated 2 May 2018. He said he was penalised after raising concerns about an attempted hack of his email account; the respondent disputed that he had made a protected disclosure.
The WRC found he had reported the matter to the audit committee chair but had not shown that person the Google message. It also found no evidence that an act or omission by the employer was involved in the attempted account breach. Other complaints were withdrawn at the hearing, including wage, unfair-dismissal, industrial-relations and fixed-term-work claims; the text also lists transfer-of-undertakings complaints among those withdrawn.
