The Workplace Relations Commission directed an employer to pay a sales manager €1,250 after finding that it failed to notify him in writing of a change to his contract within one month. The decision was dated 15 December 2017. The manager said he was notified of the change on 10 April 2017, although it had taken effect in January. The company said it handed him the contract in January and emailed him a copy in April. The adjudication officer found no evidence that the change had been handed to the manager in January and concluded, on the balance of probability, that he was notified in April, more than a month after the change took effect.
