The Workplace Relations Commission rejected an employee’s redundancy complaint after she did not attend a hearing in Tralee. Adjudication Officer Caroline McEnery dated the decision 23 April 2018. The employee had asked for the case to be heard on written submissions and requested a hearing in County Kerry. The WRC rescheduled the hearing in Tralee and told her to attend in person. She did not attend or provide an explanation, while the restaurant attended. The WRC found the complaint was “not well founded” and rejected it for lack of prosecution after the employee did not attend; the merits were not decided.
