General assistant’s six claims fail after he misses hearing

By Saoirse Doyle

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a general assistant’s six complaints failed for want of prosecution after he did not attend the hearing; the merits were not decided. The decision was dated 1 December 2017. The claims concerned minimum wage, annual leave and public holiday entitlements. The food company said the case repeated an earlier dispute and that the complaints had not been particularised. The adjudication officer noted that the assistant had not particularised the claims, attended the hearing or contacted the WRC after a message was left for his representative.
