The WRC declined to recommend that a production operative keep her Grade G pay and grade on a personal-to-holder basis after her clerical role ended. The recommendation was dated 14 November 2017. The operative said that others continued to do her former duties and that moving to Grade D would affect her pay and pension. The manufacturer said a new payroll system had replaced the role and that she would retain her Grade G entitlements for 18 months under a collective agreement. It put the gross pay difference at about €72 a week. The adjudication officer noted the substantial change to the operative's working life but found that the manufacturer had complied with the collective agreement. The officer declined the additional grade and pay protection she sought; her existing 18-month grade guarantee remained in place.
