The Workplace Relations Commission found that a care worker's six complaints were not well founded. They included claims concerning a protected disclosure, workplace safety, working time, wages, employment terms and unfair dismissal. Adjudication Officer John Tierney dated the decision 23 January 2018.
The worker said she was dismissed after raising concerns about a client and a fellow employee, and alleged penalisation, unpaid holiday pay and notice, and problems with her employment terms. The employer disputed her claims and said she had not attended required training.
The officer preferred the employer's evidence, finding that the worker had not given it an opportunity to resolve her concerns and had gone beyond her role and workplace protocols. Each of the six complaints failed; none succeeded.
