WRC dismisses farm manager’s four complaints after he misses hearing

By Aoife Loughran

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC dismissed a farm manager’s four pay and working-time complaints after he did not attend the hearing. The decision was dated 23 August 2017. The complaints fell for want of prosecution; the merits were not decided. The manager had claimed minimum wage shortfalls, Sunday-work compensation, €18,000 in wages and expenses, and pay in lieu of notice. The farm owner denied the claims and said the manager had been paid above the minimum wage and received redundancy pay.
