The WRC found a general operative entitled to €25,764 in statutory redundancy pay and awarded him a further €4,960 gross for eight weeks’ notice. The decision was dated 13 October 2017. He had been employed since 1996 and said that, after a temporary lay-off, he was told the employer could no longer employ him. His unfair-dismissal complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
