The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a collective process already under way be allowed to finish, after declining to adjudicate a District Traffic Executive’s individual complaint about a change in how he was paid. The recommendation was dated 5 September 2017. The worker objected to moving from weekly cash wages to monthly electronic transfers when he took up a permanent District Traffic Executive post. The adjudicator found the complaint was being processed collectively through the worker’s trade union and said an adjudicator could hear individual complaints but not a collective dispute.
