The Workplace Relations Commission rejected a car park operative’s four complaints against a car park operator, finding the operator was not his employer when his employment ended. The decision was dated 31 August 2017. The claims concerned unfair dismissal, redundancy, minimum notice and holiday pay after a contract to run the car park changed hands. The WRC found there had been no transfer of assets or staff, and that the previous contractor continued to exist. It therefore found the respondent was not the worker’s employer at the time of termination.
