The Labour Court recommended that a worker receive €708.60 and immediate access to the public holiday roster, in a recommendation dated 26 July 2017. The worker said he had been excluded from public holiday shifts after transferring to his role in May 2015, while colleagues had access to them. He sought an equal share of the roster and compensation for lost earnings. The health service provider said it had told him he would not be on the roster before he took the role, and that discussions about a new roster were under way. The Court found that cost control had led to the exclusion of new appointees and said the roster should be divided equally, subject to personal preference and service requirements. It recommended immediate access at no additional cost and €708.60 for six public holidays at €118.10 per day, subject to statutory deductions.
