The Workplace Relations Commission found a short order cook’s redundancy complaint well founded and required the employer to pay her statutory redundancy entitlement within 42 days. The WRC decision was dated 5 December 2017. The worker said she had been employed from August 2003 until March 2017, usually working 20 hours a week for €186 a week. She said the business closed because of financial difficulties and that, after two weeks’ notice, she was not paid statutory redundancy.
