The Workplace Relations Commission found Patrick (A Minor) Casey's complaint against Kingdom Investments Limited failed after he did not attend a hearing. The decision was dated 9 July 2018. Casey alleged he and family members were refused access to the company's bar and restaurant because they are members of the Traveller community.
The adjudication officer found Casey had been notified of the hearing and his failure to attend was unreasonable. No evidence supporting the discrimination allegation was given at the hearing. The officer found Casey failed to establish a prima facie case of discrimination on Traveller community grounds; the merits were not decided.
