Worker wins €71.90 holiday pay after bonus claim fails

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC directed an employment agency to pay a service engineer €71.90 in outstanding holiday pay after his separate bonus complaint failed. The decision, dated 16 March 2018, found no documentation showing that a bonus was part of his contract. The worker said an annual bonus averaging €5,500 had been agreed and sought €951 over the alleged deduction. The agency said the agreement contained no bonus clause. The officer found the bonus complaint was not well founded. The employer accepted that €71.90 gross in holiday pay remained due.
