The WRC found that a play school leader was entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum and four weeks’ minimum notice after her employer closed its business. In a decision dated 10 November 2017, adjudication officer John Walsh extended the time limit because she had relied on the employer’s accountant to process her claim. The lump sum was subject to her meeting social welfare requirements for PRSI contributions. The employer did not attend the hearing or provide written submissions.
