The Workplace Relations Commission directed a hotel leisure centre to pay a gym supervisor €1,894.88 for unpaid wages and recommended €2,000 redress after finding his dismissal unfair. Adjudication officer Kevin Baneham dated the decision 17 January 2018. The respondent did not attend the hearing, but the officer confirmed it had notice and proceeded. A payslip showed €1,308 gross (€947.44 net) due to the supervisor, which had not been paid. The €2,000 recommendation concerned the unfair dismissal complaint; the €1,894.88 was the award under the Payment of Wages Act.
