The Workplace Relations Commission upheld a forwarder driver's holiday-pay complaint and ordered his employer, a sawmill, to pay €1,081.50. The adjudicator found he was an employee, despite the employer's argument that he was self-employed, and awarded €922.50 for annual leave and €159 for two public holidays. The worker said he had received no annual leave pay and was owed two public-holiday payments. The employer disputed some of his hours but had kept no separate records and had paid the hours he submitted. Adjudication Officer Seán Reilly dated the decision 17 August 2017; payment was due within six weeks.
