The WRC awarded a Pest Control Technician €300 after finding that Pest Control failed to inform and consult employees before a business transfer. The decision was dated 10 November 2017. The technician said he and 10 colleagues learned on 18 January 2017 that they had a new employer with immediate effect. Pest Control said confidentiality around the sale prevented earlier consultation. The WRC found the company had not met its information and consultation obligations, although the technician suffered no detriment. It directed Pest Control to pay €300 compensation within 42 days.
