WRC dismisses four complaints against storage company over wrong respondent

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found it had no jurisdiction over four complaints brought by a data centre specialist against a storage company because she had named the wrong respondent. The decision was dated 7 November 2017. The woman said she had raised an industrial relations grievance and alleged race discrimination, penalisation and unequal treatment as an agency worker. The officer found she was employed by an agency and the storage company was the hirer, not her employer. The complaints were dismissed as misconceived; the merits were not decided.
