The Workplace Relations Commission recommended €500 over a grocery store’s handling of a supervisor’s bullying complaint and €1,000 over its dismissal procedures. The supervisor’s unfair dismissal complaint was dismissed because he fell one day short of the required year of continuous service, so the WRC had no jurisdiction to hear it; the merits were not decided. The adjudicator found the store had not properly handled the bullying complaint and said the dismissal process lacked fair procedures, including adequate time to prepare for the disciplinary hearing and access to relevant documents.
