Seamstress withdraws wages claim after identifying wrong respondent

By Niamh Kearney

Workplace Relations Commission ·

A seamstress withdrew her Payment of Wages complaint after concluding she had filed it against the wrong respondent. WRC Adjudication Officer Michael McEntee dismissed the claim in a decision dated 11 August 2017. She said a former employer owed her substantial pay for work in the second half of 2016. The clothes repair franchise said it was not the correct employer and had no liability for those wages. At the hearing, the seamstress concluded the complaint had been filed against the wrong respondent and did not pursue it. The claim was dismissed because she did not pursue it.
