A chef and kitchen porter was awarded €3,987 in unpaid wages after the WRC found his wage complaint well founded. The decision was dated 31 August 2017. The restaurant did not attend the hearing. The WRC also directed the restaurant to pay €1,000 for annual leave due on termination and €1,000 compensation for breaches of working-time rules. The officer found the worker had averaged 49.41 hours a week over a 17-week period and was owed two weeks’ leave.
