The WRC dismissed a haulage company driver’s constructive-dismissal dispute, making no recommendation in a decision dated 17 November 2017. The driver said he resigned after not receiving pay by the end of 23 December 2016. The company said he had not supplied the tax documents needed to register him as an employee and had sent harassing texts. The adjudication officer found fault on both sides, but more on the driver’s part in how the situation escalated. The company should have paid earlier, the officer said, while the driver’s failure to provide tax documents and his texts were unreasonable.
