WRC leaves solicitor’s claims for other respondents to answer

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission left a solicitor’s redundancy, minimum notice and holiday pay claims for other named respondents to answer. Adjudication Officer John Tierney dated the decision 22 August 2017. The officer accepted that the solicitor who attended the hearing had never employed the complainant. The complainant said she had worked for the deceased respondent’s practice from 1997 until July 2016 and had not received her entitlements. The officer said the other respondents had to answer the claims, but no forwarding address was provided for the deceased respondent’s estate. The merits were not decided.
