WRC rejects an officer administrator’s sick pay and age discrimination complaints

By Aoife Loughran

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found against an officer administrator in her complaints against services in a decision dated 22 August 2017. It found her sick pay complaint was not well founded, declined jurisdiction over her late transfer complaint and found insufficient evidence for the age discrimination complaint. The merits of the transfer complaint were not decided. The officer found the employment terms provided for three paid sick days per calendar year. The transfer complaint was lodged after the time limit, and the officer found no reasonable cause to extend it. On age discrimination, the officer found no facts from which discrimination could be presumed; no harassment submission was made at the hearing.
