A hairdresser company must pay a salon worker €2,783.20 in minimum wage arrears and €200 in expenses, the WRC ruled. The decision was dated 28 September 2017. The worker said she had been paid below the national minimum wage. The company said an administrative error kept her on an apprentice rate after she became a salon help. The officer found no evidence that she had been an apprentice and found her contract showed she was a salon help from the start. Her payslips showed pay below the statutory minimum, and the complaint was well founded.
