The Workplace Relations Commission found a pharmacist’s complaint about deductions from annual leave pay well founded and directed the health service provider to pay €700. The decision was dated 19 July 2017. The pharmacist said his annual leave calculations differed from those of colleagues working in another region. The provider accepted that annual leave should be based on 8% of hours worked, including required telephone availability, and said it intended to regularise the difference. The adjudication officer directed that future calculations include half of Sunday premium hours paid but not worked, with the same method applying to bank holidays.
