Redundancy complaint fails against wrongly named employer

By Ruairí Dolan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found a Forecourt Attendant’s redundancy complaint failed against the employer named in his claim because he had moved to an associated company before any dismissal. The decision was dated 10 July 2017. The worker began at a retail Filling Station in November 2013 and transferred to an associated company in June 2015. The adjudication officer said she could not substitute that company without the consent of those affected. The decision found the named respondent had no liability; it did not determine any claim against the associated company.
