The WRC found that a cleaning and facilities management company had breached the Terms of Employment (Information) Act by failing to provide a complete statement of a worker’s employment terms within the required period. It recommended that the company issue him a signed document setting out those terms within four weeks. The decision was dated 2 June 2017. The worker said he had not received a signed contract within eight weeks. The company said it had provided a contract in 2005, followed by an employee handbook and information on the applicable employment regulation order. The WRC found the statement was deficient. It made no compensation award because the worker had not shown that the omissions caused him detriment.
