A WRC adjudication officer upheld a fitter’s claim for a statutory redundancy payment in a decision dated 26 April 2017. The entitlement is subject to the worker having been in insurable employment during the relevant period. The fitter said he worked for a small engineering company from 3 March 1990 until 23 September 2016 and received three days’ verbal notice that it was closing. He said the company could not pay redundancy and did not provide an RP45 form. The company did not attend the hearing. The decision lists gross weekly pay of €675.
