The Workplace Relations Commission awarded a bakery employee €25,000 compensation for unfair dismissal after accepting his uncontested evidence. Adjudication Officer John Tierney dated the decision 20 July 2017.
The employee also sought holiday pay, notice and written employment terms. The bakery did not attend the hearing. The WRC found all four claims well founded and awarded €1,078 under the minimum-notice complaint and €431.20 under the working-time complaint, bringing the decision’s stated total to €26,509.20.
