A WRC adjudication officer directed a food retailer to pay a van driver €400 for failing to provide written terms of employment and a separate €500 for failing to provide required working-time records. The decision was dated 16 June 2017. The driver said he received cash wages and that his hours, start and finish times, and breaks were not recorded. The retailer said the parties had agreed his duties verbally and that a tracking device recorded his working times. The officer found the written terms had not been provided within two months of the job starting, and upheld the records complaint after the retailer did not provide the tracking information requested after the hearing.
