The WRC directed Peninsula Group Limited to repay a former sales employee €440 after partly upholding his wage-deduction complaint. The decision was dated 8 June 2017. The employee said deductions followed the return of a company car. The WRC found the employer had paid his expenses, refunded €150 for a tablet and paid his back pay and August bonus. It also found that he had taken more annual leave than he had accrued. The car inspection identified seven scratches but did not quantify their repair cost. The report was produced about six months after the employee left, and there was no evidence about who drove the car in the intervening period. The WRC directed repayment of the €440 repair deduction within 42 days, subject to lawful deductions.
