The WRC dismissed a catering worker’s complaint that transfer-of-undertakings rules were breached when a university catering contract changed hands. Adjudication officer Michael McEntee dated the decision 14 June 2017, finding the respondent had complied with the regulations. The worker said the transfer was abrupt and that her weekend-only work pattern was not properly protected. The catering company said it had met its information and consultation duties. The officer found the worker had been informed and consulted, including by a meeting and a letter, and that the incoming contractor had been told about her weekend work. The complaint was not well founded.
